Be Strong in the Lord

The Bible encourages believers to find their strength in God, especially during life’s challenges. Ephesians 6:10 urges, “Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” This verse highlights that true strength does not come from human effort but from God’s unlimited power. We cannot overcome the enemy’s power with our own ability; if we try, we will fail terribly. Our strength for spiritual battles comes only through our relationship with God, who knows the enemy better than we do. Therefore, by trusting in Him, we gain the courage to face trials, from personal struggles to spiritual conflicts.

Isaiah 40:29-31 offers this hope: “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak… those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.”  We are, by nature, weak people and become weary and tired, which leads to sure defeat. But this promise assures renewal for those who trust in God, enabling them to “run and not grow weary.”

Psalm 46:1 declares, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” This reminds us that God’s strength is accessible in every moment of need. Joshua 1:9 further encourages, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid… for the Lord your God will be with you.”

To be strong in the Lord is to lean on His promises, arm ourselves with His truth, and trust His presence. In every battle, God’s strength sustains and uplifts us, ensuring victory through faith.
